Nine notes, and they read in the order the character line gives. Spice first: cinnamon warm, cardamom cooler and green, with bergamot and orange blossom keeping the top bright rather than dusty.
The center is the dessert course. Bourbon vanilla, deep and dark, with praline's caramelized sugar and nut beside it. Elemi and guaiac push back with resin and smoke so the sweetness never becomes syrup. And at the end, the tail the line promises: Egyptian almond, soft and marzipan-like. It is the sweetest thing in the house, and it still wears black.
